Bellingen Community Markets 18 May  2024

Welcome  to our upcoming market on Saturday 18 May 2024, from 6.30am – 2.30pm for stallholders and 8am – 2.30pm for visitors.

We have a full park of great stalls and good people. There is something for everyone, including delicious food, drinks and coffee.

The crazy weather continues and I’m a little over it, as I’m sure you are.  They say it’s clearing but only time will tell. In the meantime, let’s put our good intentions to work and the powers to be into action and truly  believe dry weather will prevail and the celebration goes ahead.

Alas, don’t forget, we are an all weather market and operate in the rain. If you have been booked in with a site number, we expect to see you. We only cancel if the grounds are unsafe, and this is always checked 1-2 days before the market. Any changes will be posted on Facebook, so if you haven’t already LIKED and FOLLOW us please do so to receive notifications. Instagram too 🙂

Entertainment this month is singer/songwriter Andrew Cousins who joins us with his soulful tunes and our community group is the Bellingen Bulldogs Junior AFL who will welcome everyone to our market as they shake the buckets asking for kind donations to their very good cause.

We hope you loved your BCM bags and coffee cups, given in kind appreciation of your support and dedication to our market, with thanks from the Bellingen Shire Residents Association.  They will come in handy when shopping and buying your coffee.  We will be ordering some more to sell.

It’s going to be a super, duper good day and we look forward to seeing you !

Please continue to read the rest of our newsletter and learn more about our market.

Kind regards

Looking for something fun to do Saturday 18 May evening?

ARIA-nominated ALLY combined with Caribé plays global music drawn from Afro-Peruvian, Cuban, Afro-Brazilian and Andalusian traditional rhythms paired with a modern jazz aesthetic. And because they know Bellingen loves to dance, they’ll be performing a set of Cuban rumba and son for you to shake those hips with the elegant Cuban dancer Cruz Vazquez Borges. The performance will also feature the two time Australian poetry grand slam winner Dai Moret.

It’s all happening at the Memorial Hall. Click on below link to learn more.

Interesting fact:

Forests make rain

Forests move so much water from the soil into the atmosphere that they end up creating rain. It’s called the Biotic Pump Theory Plants and forests draw water from the soil before exhaling it into the atmosphere. This then impacts the balance of water and heat at Earth’s surface, essentially controlling the weather and producing rain. Parts of the Amazon Rainforest have been known to start their own rainy season!  Just one of many good reasons to protect our forests !
