Bellingen Community Markets November 2022 Newsletter

Meet Neil & Sharon Miskin from Sundown Creek Nursery plants, specialising in bromeliads and found in D section.

Welcome to Bellingen Community Markets . We look forward to our upcoming market this Saturday and trust you are too.

Thanks to the many casuals who booked this month. Unfortunately we could not place everyone and several casuals are on our waiting list so we thank them for their patience. Its always a good idea to book early for Bello Markets (ie: after the market just gone and early in month). Leaving it for the last 2 weeks may mean you don’t get in. Priority is always given to locals who make their own product. If there is room after locals are booked then we book quality out of towners.

What’s with this wacky weather ? Rain, sun, cold, hot, wind, wind and more wind. Is summer really coming? I don’t wish the heat upon us, as Bellingen Park is divine when it’s not too hot, especially on the east side of our market.

We have a super duper full park of wonderful stalls this month. Thanks to you and your superb stall, we have lots of choice; diversity, cool creations, produce, food, drinks, necessities, culture, community, alternative, scrumptious food, coffee and of course cool MUSIC.

I’m pleased to see Cheynne Murphy and friends return to the stage with their unique indie, rock originals and don’t miss the 45 piece Wahroonga Public School Concert Band, performing when Cheynne has a break, on the east side of the grandstand. They will be playing on and off all day and are certainly worth seeing and hearing, as is Cheynne. Grab a bite to eat and sit on the oval in the sunshine, listening to music from the stage and grandstand, along with the few talented buskers over the park. Bring a brolly if you don’t want to sit in the sun.

The Bellingen Shire Residents Association has their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 23 November at their office – 25 Nobles Lane, Bellingen. If you would like to be part of this please email John Dorbis bellingenshireresidents@gmail.com to advise.

I can’t believe we are only a month away from Christmas, how time flies. The last few years seem like a blur so I look forward to a more focused, positive, productive and memorable year with good weather, and healthy, happy, harmonious times for all.

Hope to see you soon and have a great market.

Cheers, Kaz

Within Concert Band is our Stage Band, a band of 22 students who enjoy performing jazz, blues and rock genre of music. The Stage Band was also awarded a GOLD Award at the 2022 Australian School Band and Orchestra Festival; and will be performing in the Sydney Town Hall as the featured primary school Stage Band at the NSW Arts Unit Festival of Choral Music in October.

The Band Tour is the culmination of a year’s work by the students, their conductors and tutors, an opportunity for the students to understand how music links communities, and for others to experience the joy of music. On this tour, we are performing at or in collaboration with rural schools in Coolongolook, Frederickton, Cundletown, and excited to have the opportunity to visit and perform at the Bellingen Markets on Saturday 19 November. We thank the organisers of the markets for their hospitality and look forward to meeting many of the stall holders very soon.

Market note: You will find the Wahroonga Public School’s Concert Band on the east side of the grandstand. They will delightfully play when Cheynne (the band) on main stage, has a break. There will be ample of room on the oval to sit and enjoy. Bring a brolly if you don’t want to sit in the sun.

We are honoured Wahroonga Public School are keen to play for us and welcome them whole heartedly to our market and community.  We look forward to seeing and hearing Wahroonga’s talented and dedicated youth and teachers. Don’t miss them.
