Bellingen Community Markets Newsletter – November 2024

Welcome to Bellingen Community Markets, coming up this Saturday 16 November 2024.

Hope you are having a good month, keeping happily busy preparing for our market and many other good things. With Christmas around the corner we received more bookings than normal, so this market is one of our biggest. Bring it on I say ! We have a glorious, spacious, tree studded and creek dotted park with large footy oval, ready to house a diverse and large variety of stalls. We are so proud to welcome lots of amazing homemade creations, local food and produce, heaps of plants, services, necessities, alternative therapies, second hand. scrumptious food, coffee, drinks and of course great music ! We generally scatter second had stalls throughout our market and this month we have a row of them along the west side of footy oval.

It’s all happening from 6am-2pm for stallholders and 8am-2pm for visitors. Yes you heard it right, as from our next market, stallholders can now leave at 2pm, always remembering, while in the park, to drive at walking pace. See more information about this below.

The weather has been up and down and it looks to continue its crazy pattern. We plan for a good weathered day but as you know, things change quickly, so come prepared, be flexible and respectful and all will go smoothly. Our market is only cancelled if the grounds are in bad shape from lots of rain or heavy storms and we always place posts on Facebook and our webpage concerning, so have a look before you come. Mind you, we don’t cancel very often, as mother nature has been kind to us on market day and may she continue.

Our musicians this month are a new band on our block called THE REDEEMED. Coming from down town Bello they play covers and originals. See more info below. A big thanks to Bellingen Primary P&C who are our community group of the month.

As always, we wish you the best day, keep smiling, stay positive and see you soon.

The Redeemed are an indie band from Bellingen purveying fine original tunes and tasteful covers that’ll tickle your fancy and tug at your heartstrings. Their unique style blends blues-rock roots with a sweet country folk aesthetic, tied together with epic harmonies, and a splash of mandolin and banjo thrown in for fun. Expect to be toe-tapping to a hillbilly hoe-down one minute, grooving to a hard hitting blues rock banger the next, then swaying gently to a heartfelt folk waltz. You’re bound to not be bored, and if you’re lucky you just might get saved…

Follow them on socials: https://www.facebook.com/theredeemedmusic/

The Redeemed play on the main stage from 10am – 2pm

Bellingen Public School celebrated 150 years in 2020. Their school provides an educational environment that reflects and supports the diverse community it serves. Innovative programs are at the forefront at Bellingen Public School and include creating and performing arts performances, an extensive music program with an excellent partnership with our partner high school as well as a growing sustainability and environmental education focus.

The school grounds are spacious, contain extensive gardens and provide active and passive play areas with shaded rainforest areas for student enjoyment. The school is very appreciative of our local community who continue to support the wellbeing and opportunities for all students and staff. The photo is all students and staff after they participated in the colour fun run last year.
