Bellingen Community Markets Newsletter 21 December 2024

Ho ho ho, its Christmas time at Bellingen Community Markets, this Saturday 21 December from 6.30am -2pm for stallholders and 8am – 2pm for visitors. With only three days before X-Mas it’s a great opportunity to buy unique and useful last minute presents while eating good food, listening to cool music and meeting good people.

I suspect it’s going to be hot so please come prepared, ie: hat and lots of water. You will need shade cover if you have a stall in our open and sunny E or F section. Bellingen Park is a beautiful site with its abundant nature, meandering creeks on west side and large footy oval on east. Over the years we have grown so much that we now spread out over its entire expanse. See below a rough map showing the market’s layout. It may be helpful for you. Stalls are along the yellow path lines.

Along with our fantastic long time permanent stalls, we have a diverse selection of casual stalls joining us this month. Once again we have a 2nd hand strip on west side of oval. Worth mentioning is the new ice-cream van in C food area, and Henry returns with his Shaved Ice in E section. Also check out Rodrigo in A section with his sourdough pizza sandwiches. I would love to mention more, but next time.

The Lonesome Boatmen (aka The Romaniacs) play on stage from 10am – 2pm. See more information below and The Bellingen SULT Dance Group strut their stuff at 11am. There will be a few fairies and elves dancing around, cooling you down and sharing sweet treats. Our community group is The Bellingen Bulldogs Junior AFL who will be on the gates shaking the bucket and welcoming all with a friendly smile. Please support their valuable cause working with our youth.

It’s a bumper of a market to end a busy 2024. We hope you can make it, and be part of the growing movement to support local artists and small businesses, which includes all our shops in Bello and surrounding towns. Have a cool swim in the river while your here!

Keep cool, smiling and enjoying.

If I don’t get around and see you on Saturday, I just want to say, a big thanks for your support over the last year. It is always a real pleasure seeing you all so happy and having a good day. It’s been a roller coaster of weather but we kept the show going, against the odds. The way I see it, mother nature is in favour of our monthly community celebration. It’s a win win for everyone.

Let’s all continue to respect, protect and nurture our community and environment.

Happy Christmas and New Year to you all. May you have a safe, peaceful and relaxing time out.
