Bellingen Community Markets 15 August 2026

Welcome to Bellingen Community Markets and thanks for joining us. We look forward to a great day of trade, socialising and connection.

The weather has been challenging over the last six months but we have gone ahead and had a dry market. We understand it’s a hard call to attend with rain leading up to day and more predicted, but so far it hasn’t eventuated and those who attended had a great day. The other side of the picture is; it’s quite expensive to run our large monthly market and we rely on your stall fee to help pay the bills, so many thanks for your understanding and attendance.

And talking about bills, due to ongoing rising costs, it’s necessary to increase stall fees. We are sorry but we have no other option. The new fee rise comes into affect in October. The good news is, many people support local artisans, makers, growers, producers and services and we attract stallholders and visitors from far and wide who enjoys our market’s diversity and relaxed atmosphere. AND it can only get better!

On another note, we still have a ton of bags so if you would like one, they are available at the hub for $5 each or maybe you would like to buy bulk and save @ $20 for 5. The bags are a good size to hold all your customer’s market treasurers.

Have a good week and see you soon.

Kaz Selbie, Bellingen Community Markets Manager

Six local members of the Bellingen Scout Group are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime as they set their sights on attending the 2027 World Scout Jamboree in Poland.

The group, made up of five young Scouts and one leader, will travel overseas to represent both Bellingen and Australia at what is the largest Scout gathering in the world. The World Scout Jamboree is expected to bring together around 40,000 Scouts from across the globe, creating a once-in-a-generation opportunity for young people to build friendships, develop leadership skills and experience cultures from every corner of the world.

While at the Jamboree, the Bellingen Scouts will camp as part of an international troop of around 40 Scouts, sharing responsibilities such as cooking meals, maintaining their campsite and supporting one another as they live and learn together. Over 10 days of activities, the Scouts will challenge themselves with adventures including canoeing, rock climbing, archery, hiking, snorkelling, kayaking, abseiling, canyoning and orienteering, along with many other international Scouting experiences.

Before the Jamboree even begins, the group will also take part in a seven-day pre-tour of Poland, where they will explore cultural landmarks and take part in adventure activities that showcase the country’s history and landscape.

However, getting to the other side of the world takes commitment — and support from the community that raised them. We look forward to seeing many friendly faces at the gates of the Bellingen Community Markets this Saturday!
